Principle and disinfection characteristics of ozone

The principle of ozone:

Ozone, also known as trioxygen, is an allotrope of oxygen. Ozone at lower concentrations at room temperature is a colorless gas; When the concentration exceeds 15%, it shows a light blue color. Its relative density is 1.5 times that of oxygen, the gas density is 2.144g/L (0°C,0.1MP), and its solubility in water is 13 times greater than that of oxygen and 25 times greater than that of air. Ozone is chemically unstable and slowly breaks down into oxygen in both air and water. The rate of decomposition in air is dependent on ozone concentration and temperature, with a half-life of 16h at concentrations below 1.0%. The decomposition rate in water is much faster than that in air, which is related to the pH value and the content of pollutants in water. The higher the pH value, the faster the decomposition rate of ozone is generally in 5~30min.

Ozone disinfection characteristics:

1.Ozone oxidation ability is very strong, can be removed by oxidation of most of the water can be oxidized substances.

2.The speed of ozone reaction is relatively block, which can reduce the damage to the equipment and the pool.

3.The excess ozone consumed in the water will also be rapidly converted into oxygen, increasing the dissolved oxygen in the water and the oxygen content in the water, without causing secondary pollution.

4.Ozone can kill bacteria and eliminate the virus at the same time, but also can carry out the olfactory and odor removal function.

5.Under certain circumstances, ozone also helps to increase the flocculation effect and improve the precipitation effect.

6.The most prominent ozone is the highest killing rate of E. coli, which is 2000 to 3000 times that of normal chlorine dioxide, and ozone is the strongest in terms of disinfection effect.
